What Auvra is
Auvra helps you track international and local gold prices, compare markets on a consistent basis, and use a gold calculator. Prices are labelled by type (Spot, Spot-equivalent, and others when available), and every quote shows how fresh it is.
Where prices come from
- Live international spot: gold-api.com (direct from the app).
- Current exchange rates: Exchangerate.dev, refreshed every 15 minutes through the Auvra proxy. Attribution: Rates by Exchangerate.dev. The UAE dirham and Saudi riyal use their official US dollar pegs.
- Price history and the previous close: gold-api.com, cached by the Auvra proxy.
- Historical exchange rates: currency-api by @fawazahmed0 (CC0-1.0), cached by the Auvra proxy.
Local prices in this version are estimates calculated from the international spot price and marked Spot-equivalent. Retail reference and dealer quotes appear only when a licensed source exists.
Widgets
Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets refresh about every 15 minutes, as iOS allows. Widgets are not live tickers; each entry shows when it was last updated.
Common questions
Why does a calculated price differ from a shop price?
Shop prices include making charges, purity adjustments at the counter, taxes, and dealer margins. Auvra’s calculated values start from the same international gold price and are converted by purity and the exchange rate. They are references, not a shop’s price.
Why are retail references not available yet?
We do not show retail or dealer prices without a licensed source for that market. Until then, those options stay unavailable.
